Reading:
Try to read as much as you can with your child to help them to develop a love for reading. You may not only read their reading books that they bring home from school, but also read them a bedtime story. Let your child read with you, taking it turns to read a section. Let your child ask questions throughout to develop their curiosity and ask them questions to check their own understanding. Pick out the vocabulary that they have learnt.
I cannot stress enough, how important it is that the children are exposed to a variety of stories in both English and in Spanish.
Spellings:
Please continue to work with your children on their spellings. They will only need to learn the 6 spellings that are in their spelling book.
